How strange it feels to place ourselves in such a vulnerable position. We stumble in life flat on the ground, but now let’s put wheels under our feet? That sounds awful.

How is that a good idea?

Won’t we fall?

Of course we will!

So why do we do it anyway?

We do it because we see the joy and smiles on the faces of others as they roll by.

How can we get that same happiness?

Can we do it?

Are we brave to put one skate on and then the other?

Can we get ourselves to a standing position?

What are your thoughts as you stand there and are wobbly?

Do voices sound up in your mind?

Are these voices telling you things like…

“you are going to fall”

“you can’t do this”

“you will embarrass yourself”

“others are so much better than you”

Why do we listen to these voices?

Why do we believe these voices is a more important question?

Can we begin to ask ourselves these questions and make these statements instead?

I can stand on skates!

I can put one foot forward and stay upright!

I may fall but I will get back up!

If I need help I will lean on others!

I will get better each time I get on those skates!

I will find Joy as I soar around the room!

I will try new things because I believe in myself!

Why are hugs important for our health and mindset?

The science behind it tells us:

When people hug for 20 seconds or more, the feel-good hormone oxytocin is released which creates a stronger bond and connection between the huggers.

We just KNOW that we feel better after a warm hug!

Have you held someone in a hug for over 20 seconds?

How dId you feel?

At some point in the 20 seconds your body lets go as if everything you were holding “in check” just releases!

Have you ever felt that?

Have a difficult relationship that you want to change? Start with a hug!

Holding people in grace and with a hug can help reboot those relationships you have found challenging.

Need to forgive? Start the conversation off with a hug and see where the dialogue takes you.

So TODAY lets experiment! Find someone to hug today! Your partner, child, grandchild, friend, etc!

Until we see each other in person, I am sending you a virtual hug!

What are your thoughts on living a more joyful life?

Do you think it’s even possible?

I mean really? How is that even possible when we are going through the most challenging times?

I get it!

“Being” more joyful isn’t about teaching you to just be more positive or telling you that you just aren’t trying enough to be happy.

Life is hard! We have struggles, fears, anger to deal with and frustrations. These are all important emotions and we need to feel them. They teach us things about ourselves and they are our wake up calls!

Do you want to learn more about how a joyful life can look for you?

Let’s chat about it and see if it’s a good fit for you!
